Spring Break - Part One

Last Friday was my last day of school for 10 whole days!  I am obviously excited to get to spend a lot of time with Rilyn and we are having a blast.  We've been outside enjoying the gorgeous weather every day, got to have lunch with daddy, and are spending a lot of time playing with the doggies.

Here's what's been going on in pictures:

Rilyn was sick all weekend with a little virus so we did lots of cuddling and passing her on and off to eachother.
We spent Saturday morning at the dog park where Zoe ate lots of mud and Porter got stuck in the river.  Tyler had to go and pull him out, which was pretty funny.
Rilyn got some bubbles in her Easter basket from grandma and Papa and has enjoyed eating lots of bubble solution.

Rilyn and I visited the garden for the first time this season.  Just to see it and play in it a little.  We definitely are not going to get things planted as early as I hoped, but that's fine I'm sure it will all come together eventually.

We've spent lots of time at the park.
We went to Jamba Juice, where Rilyn got her own little cup.  She drank all of her's and then some more of mine and Stacey's.

We spent a morning at the zoo with some friends, including this ape who decided to sleep right by the window.

Tomorrow Rilyn and I are headed to Montana for a short little visit with the family.  We are really excited to see everyone, but not so excited for the drive.  Cross your fingers she only cries for 1/2 the trip and not the whole trip!

St. Patrick's Day

It was fun comparing pictures of Rilyn from last year to this year.  What a difference a year makes when you are so young!

We had lots of fun at the Platt's home celebrating with everyone and it is super gracious that they invite us and feed us every year!

It's been a while

Hello Friends

I'm guessing that you think the long delay in me blogging was due to me being discovered by an agency that scouts family blogs and decides to give rich sums of money to obviously talented bloggers (me).

No, in truth, I've been banned from the blog.  It seems my last post was a bit offensive and crossed a line or two.

The good news for you is that Anna is gone for a few hours.  Hopefully you check the blog before she deletes these ramblings.

Now, on to the offending.

Any of you fools watch American Idol?  I realize that me asking you if you watch American Idol makes me the fool, but the unintentional comedy of this show can't be topped.  Lately my taunts have been directed at a dude who would have you think he was a big cuddly bear.

See that dude on the left?  See how he is twice the size of everyone?  Would you want to tell him that AMERICA voted him off?

Luckily, he was not voted off (although I have to admit I would have enjoyed watching him tear off someone's arm at the news).

No, he was kicked off because he had 4 pending felony charges against him (some violent).  The funny thing, is I could see his rage early on.  He was always a bit cranky and looked like he was about to pop.

Also, he was very sweaty, probably because he knew the LAW was on his tail.

Not to be a jerk, but...

Really?  Did you think you would avoid the PO-LICE by entering a singing competition watched by millions of Americans?  (I just picture the cop who's wife forced him to watch American Idol saying "Hey...That's the guy that picked up a car and threw it at me")

In related violent felony crime news, it seems that my lovely daughter is up to 3 would be suitors.

Joaquin (her betrothed), from what I hear, has been having a bit of a lovers quarrel with her lady.  Something about toys I think.  Currently, I believe he is in 2nd (although don't rule him out...he's closest in proximity and oh so dreamy).

Eli, the bad boy that my mom watches may be winning.  I hope for his sake that I don't have to summon my inner hulk from American Idol, but the whispers and evidence (dog food breath, toilet smelling clothes) of this relationship are making me nervous.  I'm seriously going to snap if he's the first to learn to ride a bike.

Levi, the gentleman that my mom watches is probably in third place.  Why do I love him so much?  Because when Rilyn lays down he puts a blanket on her.  Because he's got no bully in him.  Because I haven't hear of him getting in trouble (and even shares the IPad with Rilyn).

Regardless, I don't think that it's a good sign that I'm already stressing about her love life.

I'll leave you with this.

Anna and I are having a wicked hard time coming up with a name for our child on the way.  With Rilyn, it was this awesome brainstorming collaboration thing that worked out perfectly.  That is not happening this go round.

It almost seems like Anna straight up doesn't want me to name this kid.

If it's a boy, I think we're still sticking to Ryder (I know, Rilyn and Ryder, it's a trend, they both start with R, blah blah blah).

Don't make me remind you about the reasons why I need a son named Ryder.

But if it's a girl, that's where we're stuck.

In the sake of honesty, I have to admit that I have a bad habit of loving a name in a book that I'm currently reading.  Trust me, there have been some bad ones that I've suggested.

But this one, I think may stick, but to be sure, I'm asking for your help.

What do you think about the name Arya?

The Tongue

I could just sit and stare at Rilyn all day.  Really I just can't get over how cute she is and how much I love her!  So, I just had to laugh and take some pictures of "the tongue"  whenever she is thinking or concentrating really hard she sticks her little tongue out so cute.  Of course it is only something a mom would notice and brag about.

The other super cute things she does is hoard this little blue blanket looking thing in her hand.  It is actually  a rag to clean electronics that I didn't know we even had.  We keep it in a little basket with remotes and stuff and she finds it everyday, hides behind the couch, and uses it as a lovey.  What a knuckle head!
We are still enjoying this gorgeous weather!

Rilyn's new favorite trick is trying to put her shoes on which means you better be ready to go outside NOW! Of course she doesn't quite know that you only need 1 pair of shoes on at a time.

Oh and Happy Birthday Stacey!  We can't wait to celebrate with you this weekend!!!

It's Feelin Like Spring!

Today was a gorgeous day and Rilyn decided to take full advantage of the weather.  As soon as she was walking we started taking her outside on a more regular basis.  It was hard to get her outside this winter because the ground was wet and cold on those crawling hands and knees.  Evenings were still rough because she would get bored pretty quickly.

Now that she is outside pretty much every evening things have been running a lot more smoothly around here and we've had a lot less tantrums, she's eating great, and sleeping well.  I know it all goes hand in hand and we are just thankful for the early warmer weather we are experiencing.  It's fun because she will go and get her shoes when she is ready to go outside.  Tyler and I are learning that we better be ready when she is because if she gets her shoes it is go time.

Today we had swim lessons, went on a couple walks, played at the park, and Skyped with grandma and papa. It was a great Saturday!

20 weeks

We are half way through this pregnancy!  That in itself is pretty amazing considering I feel like we just found out we were pregnant yesterday.  When I was pregnant with Rilyn it went by incredibly fast, and this one is even going by faster.  As parents, Tyler and I are trying to spend some time focusing and loving on this baby, which is challenging with a 1 year old.

Yesterday we had our 20 week appointment, and it went well. Very uneventful (which is good in cases of pregnancy) but it almost seems silly to even have an appointment because they are not telling us anything we don't know and we have no questions.

The appointment goes like this: Midwife "how are things going" Us: "good" Midwife: "what questions do you have?" Us: "None" Midwife: "sounds good, let's talk to your baby." And that is that....time to pack up the 3 bags of junk we brought to try to keep Rilyn entertained for the whole 10 minutes.

So, what we know at 20 weeks is that this baby likes to move A LOT and I can feel him/her most mornings and nights.  With Rilyn I only remember feeling her move at night.  It's still not big enough that Tyler can feel him/her but hopefully soon!  The baby's heart rate was 150.

I did gain 3 pounds so that is good news.  I still have absolutely no appetite and it can be torture to eat (especially my protein "stuff").  I'm not quite back to my pre-pregnancy weight but we are getting there.

Other than me not being able to stay awake past 7:30, things are going good!  Rilyn is amazing and doing new things everyday.  It is amazing how well she can follow directions (when she wants to), and is even following 2 step directions.  She is such a fun little girl!

Have a great rest of your week!
