Loves

While we were in Montana, the kids got to play with and love on so many people in their family.  We didn't get to see everyone this time, but it seems like we always get to spend time with someone special.

Obviously, they get to spend lots of time with my parents, sister, and their first cousins.  I also realized I got very few pictures this time.  I didn't get one of Mashaela or Cyrus.  Next time, I will have to do better.

They also got to spend an afternoon with my Uncle and Aunt and their 3 amazing kids.  Second cousins are so much fun! My favorite part of these pictures is the footwear selections.  The kids were all playing outside (in the country) and not one of them had on "real" shoes.  We have snowboots, socks, bare feet, slippers, and crocks.  Ha...so cute.

My favorite part about these pictures is this adorable puppy riding happily in the back with these crazy drivers.

My Grandma Connie also came up for a couple visits and both Rilyn and Ryder really enjoyed giving her lots of hugs and loving on her all through dinner.  It's so great that they get to spend time with their great grandparents just like I was able to do as a kid.

The kids love spending time with all their daycare friends and have really grown up with most of the kiddos my mom has.  It's going to be so sad when a couple go off to school next year.  Rilyn will definitely miss her buddies.  Ryder gets a couple more years with his though.  Rilyn also got to have a sleepover with her "best" daycare friend.  It was Rilyn's first official sleepover and the girls we so excited.  This particular family has been going to my mom's daycare for 13 years so really they are more like family to us.

We are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives.

A Big Catch

A couple weekends ago the kids and I headed up to Montana for our annual March Madness Montana trip.  Tyler gets a few days with no kids, no work, and as much basketball as he and Kendall can handle.  The trip up was exhausting because I decided to leave at night in hopes the kids would sleep, but Ryder and Sawyer were just really fussy the whole way and then within 30 minutes of my parent's house Rilyn threw up.  So, I pulled into Billings at 3 AM with 3 crying, tired, and gross kids.

Sawyer did enjoy helping me pack a.k.a unpack for our trip

The day after we arrived, we decided to take a trip to Bighorn National Canyon and do a little boating.  The kids really wanted to try fishing and get some time on Papa's boat.

Sawyer really hated the life jacket and really do you blame him?  He also loves water and was not happy that he couldn't play in it.  But he thought going really fast on the boat was awesome.

My dad did not think we would catch anything since he hasn't caught anything in this spot since he was a teenager, but it was a windy day and we needed to go somewhere where the wind wouldn't destroy us.  Rilyn threw out her pole with Papa and Ryder with Grandma.  Within 10 minutes Rilyn and Papa were pulling in a Brown Trout.  I don't think she could have been more excited.

Rilyn had to show off her fish to her daycare friends the next day.

After the boat ride, the kids loved playing by the edge of the water and throwing stones in the water. Even Sawyer got to enjoy playing in the dirt.

I tried getting a picture of all three of them, but could not get them all to look at the camera since there were rocks within hands reach.

I got Ryder to smile the first picture and that was it
 Sawyer bites Rilyn

And she was not happy about it

Ryder and Rilyn are both looking but Ryder has drool coming out of his mouth

And after about 30 takes and still no luck I gave up

But we got some pictures on the dock that turned out pretty good.

It was a really fun day.  My dad wanted to take the kids out again the next weekend, but since we planned on leaving for Colorado that next day I couldn't imagine boating all day the day before I did the drive.  So, we will have to go next time we are in Montana.

If it's Ryder's turn to pray he is still thanking God for, "boating, having a snack on the boat, and catching a big big fish."

We are thankful for every day we get to spend with our families.
