Unexpected Visits

It's been a busy month around here so we've been on the go doing lots of fun and not so fun stuff.

In a matter of 3 weeks our townhouse flooded (AGAIN), Isaiah spent some time at Children's Hospital after being flown down here for a skull fracture, my cousin (who lives in Montana) also spent time here for a surgery, Isaiah visited again for an infection in the fore mentioned skull fracture, and we had a funeral.

Last week I told the kids we were having a true staycation and we planned on not leaving the house for a whole week since we hadn't spent a whole day at home in a month!  We succeeded with only trips into town to see grandma.

Isaiah fell while riding his brand new bike and must have been going pretty fast (Isaiah style) because he ended up being flown down here for emergency surgery.  He hit his head on the very top and it was in the worst place possible since it was pressing down on a very big artery.  He was so lucky and truly God had other plans for Isaiah because he could have very well not have lived through this.  He was up and moving the next day and we got to spend some time with him before they went home.

A week later he came back with an infection, and thankfully that cleared up quickly.  While they were waiting for it to clear up we got to go to the zoo and hang out with him and Tasha which was a nice treat for us.  And don't worry Rilyn gave him a stern talking to which went something like this, "Isaiah you boy you!  You have to wear a helmet when you ride your bike, you boy you."  Poor kid is probably really tired of his younger cousin lecturing him and I'm pretty sure she's never going to let him live it down.

Within seconds of entering their hotel room these 3 had shoes off and were resigned to laying in bed and watching TV together the rest of the night.  I asked Ryder what he was doing and he told me he was going to sleep because there was a bed and than said, " I didn't know they had a shower too!"  Hotel rooms are very exciting when you are 2.

He was only smiling until it started.  As soon as the carousel started moving he freaked out.

We also got to spend time with my cousin, her daughters, my grandma, and uncle.  It was nice to see everyone and hang out with them while they were here.  Somehow I didn't even know that my grandma was also coming so it was a nice surprise when we saw her.

When Daddy is Away it's Time to Play

A little while ago, Tyler had a boys weekend up in the mountains to celebrate Chris's upcoming wedding.  I decided to plan all kinds of fun things to keep the kids busy and to keep me sane.  Even though we had tons of fun it may have been a little overboard.  I guess there is a thing as too much fun.

On Friday the kids and I met up with our mom's group and hung out at the park all morning.  Sawyer was super fussy the whole time and sure enough woke up with a pretty high fever that, even after some medicine, took the whole night to kick.  The older two and I managed through with our first homemade popsicles of the summer.

Our library had it's summer kick off party.  We spent the morning with lots of construction truck fun. Besides a fun story-time we got to do stuff like climb on a digger!

Face-Painting was probably the most favorite part of the kick-off.

And decorated hard hats

We also met our friends Shannon, Payton, and Grant at a park and went and had dinner.  Kole was also up in the mountains so it was a perfect time for us ladies to get together with the kids.  The place we ate had a great playroom and the kids got to make their own pizzas.  They had tons of fun and it was nice for us to catch up.

I was so tired by the end of the weekend.  I love doing all these fun things with the kids but I may have over scheduled us a little!

Memorial Day Weekend 2015

My parents came down for Memorial Day weekend, and we were all excited to spend some time without much planned and time to just hang out and enjoy eachother.  I also realized I took very few pictures this trip, which is very unlike me.

One day we went to the Wildlife Experience.  I hadn't been there since I've had kids so I was excited to take the munchkins.  We went to an IMax and it was all of the kids' first experience with a movie theater.  They were thrilled to watch a movie with special glasses while eating popcorn.  We saw a film on animals of Africa and it was pretty good.  We got lucky and Sawyer fell asleep so I was even able to sit through the whole thing.

We also spent a lot of time hanging out in the backyard and just visiting.  My parents both had fun jumping with the kids on the trampoline.

Sawyer got a water/sand table for his birthday from my parents and all 3 kids have spent many hours making mud.

My parents left Sunday after dinner so Monday we packed a picnic lunch and went for a hike here in Larkspur.  We are so lucky to live so close to some beautiful hiking trails.  Both Rilyn and Ryder did really well and never complained about being tired but they were definitely wiped when we were done.  The weather was perfect for a hike!
