January in Review

January has seemed to fly by and I can't believe we are already 1 month down in 2015.  Life with 3 kids is busy but amazing.  I've never understood when parents get bored because we seem to always having something to do.  Even at home....there are books to read, preschool stuff to learn, toys to play with, or just life to be had.

Rilyn started playing basketball this month.  She loved it!  They only do a 4 week class about 4 times a year so she won't play again for awhile and too be honest I think she would like any activity we put her in.  It was super fun to watch her.  She was the only girl (other than the coach) and the youngest but that didn't hold her back one bit.  Considering most of the boys were closer to 5 she definitely held her own.  The only part she didn't like was playing defense.  She thought it was silly to get that close to another person.  It was amazing to see her make growth in such a short period.

Sawyer could barely control himself every practice (he really wanted those basketballs)
We've spent lots of time in the snow.  Or at least the kids have....we can let the older two outside on the deck where the snow piles up and I can sit inside and watch them from the window with some hot tea or coffee.  Not sure if that's considered good parenting but I don't care because I'm warm!

The wild turkeys have been hanging around quite a bit and love teasing the dogs.  Zoe thinks she is a good watch dog but the turkeys can get up close and personal while she is taking a nap.

Colder days mean more snuggling!

Trixie has finally come to the conclusion that it is warmer after all to lay next to the big dogs.  So, like it or not she is going to snuggle.

We also spend lots of time playing inside, which the kids don't seem to mind.  Rilyn and Ryder play really well together right now and they come up with some pretty crazy play ideas.

This boy sorts EVERYTHING.  Also, most things must be placed in a line...and don't you dare mess with those lines.

Sawyer thinks the dogs are the best things ever.  Porter and Trixie try to keep their distance but Zoe lets him do whatever he wants to her.  The poor dog, I'm finding clumps of her hair around the house from Sawyer pulling at her.  As long as she gets to lick him uncontrollably she is happy.

January was lots of fun and this post didn't even include a very special little girl's 4 year old celebration.  That will have to be a post of it's own.
